Marina's (some know her) miata isn't starting, mainly due to the reason quoted below. Basically, I just need the connector going from the fuel pump to the plug on the cover, as I already have a new fuel pump.
Anybody have a first gen fuel pump assembly sitting around they'd like to get rid of cheap? Or simply the wire? JD? Ari? Theodore?

Thank you all for the suggestions re my '90 Miata not starting. The problem
seems to have been a charred fuel pump connector: the one on the bottom of
the oval cap (inside the tank) which is held onto the top of the gas tank by
several small phillips screws. It appear as if the connector overheated,
charring the connector itself (the plastic was partly burned through). The
fuse never blew so I don't think it shorted out.
Mat didn't, but Matt did. Headed down to Ed Powell's and grabbed the whole assembly for $20... it was pretty much the ONLY useable part left on the entire miata.

This is my grave problem now. Can't figure out which thing I should really look at. Can't take it to the shop until my dad is here to have it checked.

Sorry...I missed this thread. My bad! I have a spare fuel pump if you need it.. attached to the whole top plate. The wires leading to it are not special... obviously don't plug or unplug with top off and battery hooked up. Don't laugh...I've done it.
I apologize if I over simplify...don't know what you have done. Pull the feeder hose, put it in a jar and turn switch to on and see if you are pumping fuel . If not, I'd check fuses. If fuses okay, possible the steel line is pinched flat on under side of car or rubber hose is pinched blocking fuel supply somewhere around passenger side of hood. It's also possible the return line is not allowing flow back. Might try to start it a few times and open gas cap and listen for a vacuum of air being sucked in. Haynes manual can help track down most anything. Except for when it has 50 steps disassembling something and then says "Reassemble in obvious manner."
If you need help, give me a buzz and I'll be glad to talk through some ideas and things to check. :

I want to verify something, if I pull the feeder hose, & should I place it in a jar and make the switch to on and observe if you are really pumping fuel .
